and investment management through its operating subsidiary:
First Bank & Trust.
Its banking subsidiary provides community-oriented, personal and commercial
banking services and trust and investment management services
in Northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The banking subsidiary
targets individuals, small to medium sized corporations and
not-for-profit organizations and provides a high level of
service at affordable prices.
The banking subsidiary was founded as a de novo banking organization
in September, 1995 by a group of experienced bankers and local
business people who hoped to fill a niche in the Chicago metropolitan
area retail banking market. As large banks acquired smaller
ones and personal service was subjected to consolidation strategies,
the opportunity became clear for a locally controlled and
managed, highly personal service-oriented bank.
The bank is directed by a participatory, local board which
has 17 members and is managed by a team of experienced bankers
who average more than 30 years of experience per person in
the banking business. Management is deeply involved in local
community activities. All senior management are also shareholders
in First Evanston Bancorp, Inc. The bank provides banking
and financial services to individuals, small businesses, local
governmental units and not-for-profit organizations in the
bank's market areas.
These services include traditional deposit accounts, home
equity, home mortgage, real estate and commercial loans, safe
deposit facilities, trust and investment services, online
banking and bill payment.
